Curated Curriculum
Given the intersectional nature and complexity of problems that define our time, it is imperative that we seek to broaden possibilities through collaborations (both within and outside EYC) and enable different stakeholders to bring in their voices, perspectives and insights. Through webinars, programmes, and workshops, we hope to empower both youths and beyond to work towards reimagining the systems that we reside in and what a just future truly means.
The curated curriculum is made up of both external collaborations and internal collaborations (self-initiated by EYC members)
Overview of programmes with partners
Possible formats
Weekly webinars (TBC)
-
Every (certain day) of the week, a speaker will be invited to present or share on a certain area
-
A theme of the month could be chosen to guide the type of webinars
-
Suggested Structure: 1 hour presentation; 30mins Q&A
-
It may then be recorded and broadcasted on a platform (e.g. website)
Ad-hoc events
-
Depends on the collaborator
-
Can be in the form of a seminar or participatory workshop (E.g. MUN on Climate action)
-
Can be “chill” sessions (E.g. A spirituality workshop, book club)
Short/Long-term programmes/series
-
For collaborators keen on partnering in the long-term
-
Form ideas: A year-long/6month-long programme with weekly meetings, a week long programme around a specific theme, a 2-day seminar on separate weekends
-
Could culminate with a deliverable (E.g. A project)
Field-trips
Important note for potential partners
Engagements include but are not limited to the possible formats. We would appreciate having a conversation or working group to further discuss areas for collaboration. Some partners, for instance, have looked at our other initiatives and were keen to design something around that. Ultimately, we hope for engagements to be sustainable and last beyond a one-time talk or a workshop.
Overview of programmes with members
These engagements can either be initiated by members of EYC or the EYC team. While it can follow the aforementioned formats, it is likely to be hangout sessions (e.g. a beach clean-up, a book club, a film screening)
